Born on 20 July, 1947, in Autlán de Navarro, Mexico, Carlos Santana is considered a pioneer of an innovative fusion of rock, fiery Afro-Latin polyrhythms, and contrasting cool, low-key vocals. Carlos Santana is a fourth-generation musician and the son of a violinist father. When his family moved to San Francisco, Santana formed his first band while also working as a dishwasher.
The band quickly gained fame during a performance at Woodstock in 1969 and Columbia record noticed them and signed them immediately .
